Mini Portable Jump Starters.

Heard of ’em?

Are they too good to be true?

Let’s find out.

I’ve been wanting one of these things for a long time but never believed they could actually work.

Recently, a friend of mine bought one and offered to let me borrow it to jump-start my old soon-to-be-coming out-of-storage farm truck.

Not being one to borrow anything, I went ahead and purchased my own. I knew the truck would be stone-cold dead and this would be the perfect way to prove I was right about these portable jump starters. I even brought along jumper cables.

The farm truck is a full-sized mid-90s V-8 and had been sitting since October of last year, so about 7 months in a cold storage barn south of town.

As expected, there were no signs of life in the ol’ girl. Nothing. Just the cold shoulder as if to say, this is what I get for leaving it all alone for so long.

On to the portable jump starter. I purchased it on the line from Amazon.

It’s about the size of an inflated VHS Tape (Google it!) and boasts to be able to jump-start your vehicle multiple times and can even power a train! (lol j/k).

This one also has a built-in compressor, a flashlight, and USB ports.

My main objective was for it to fail when I needed it most and then be able to say, “Ha! I was right.”

I popped the hood, hooked the cables to the portable jump starter, and powered it on. The LED showed it was at 100%. It was now time for the true test.

Once connected to the battery, the old “Farm Truck” said hello with the sounds of relays and door chimes. But would it actually start?

Without waiting more than 30 seconds, I turned the key, and well…

It turned over as fast as always and sprang to life on the first try.

When I tell you it was impressive, I mean it. Even our big bulky shop battery chargers take more time to jump-start a dead vehicle.

So what’s my point here?

Well, I was wrong.

This might be, as the kids say these days, a ‘holy grail product.’

If you are looking for something practical for dads or grads, this could be it. Let’s review some of the benefits:

This portable jump starter was under $100. In fact, I bought a second one for a Mother’s Day gift. You only need to use an item like this one time to make it pay for itself.

You know many dads love gadgets.

You’ll enjoy some extra peace of mind when sending your new adults out into the world.

It would be great for camping and inflating those blow-up swim floats.

Think of the possibilities for powering up all those personal mobile devices.

Keep an extra one on your boat, in your camper, etc.

Gone will be the days of standing around with your hood up hoping someone stops to help you while you’re on hold with your insurance or tow truck company.

You’ll find many options for portable jump starters on the internet. Here’s the one I personally purchased and what I can tell you is it actually works. I guess big things can come in small packages!

And if you’re needing to jump your vehicle often, we can fix that. Schedule your service online or connect with our team.

Thanks for reading. Congratulations to the class of 2023 and Happy Father’s Day!
